TITLE: Investment Vice President

           

DUTIES: Source investment opportunities across North America in the sectors of financial technology, and education services for SBIA. Responsibilities include: interactions with founders, funds, and brokers, and maintaining a pipeline of opportunities. Oversee and provide quality control over Investment Associates’ work. Provide guidance in the diligence and research process for new investments. Provide mentoring and be a resource to Associates. Conduct diligence on new investment opportunities by analyzing private and public company data, build financial and valuation models, lead diligence calls with companies, brokers, and experts, and research macro and sector trends. Prepare internal presentations to different stakeholders to communicate investment opportunities, situation updates, public market valuations, and other key investment analyses. Provide industry expertise and insight. Responsible for organizing and executing end-to-end game plan of the investment execution process. Serve as the main point of contact for key parties and work across the organization to ensure timeline and high-quality execution. Contribute to deal structuring, documentation, and negotiation. Track and monitor portfolio companies, provide regular business updates to key stakeholders at the fund, maintain regular communication with founders and management teams, and facilitate introductions, analyses, or observations for SBIA’s investments. Research and recommend companies for SoftBank to invest in or acquire. Participate in all stages of the investment process – including market analysis, due diligence, deal negotiations and portfolio management. Communicate results and insights with senior leaders (e.g., through live presentations and ongoing analysis/reports). Manage end-to-end analytical projects by quickly understanding context and developing structured analysis to reach alignment and provide guidance to senior stakeholders. Research and share executive-level insights to educate other executives on new, innovative technology trends and markets, and recommend high-potential investments. Must be appear in office 3 days per week. Work from home permissible 2 days per week. International travel required up to 40% of the time.

 

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Finance or a related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.

 

Experience and/or education must include:

 

1)      Financial modeling and corporate finance;

2)      Private and public market valuation analyses (comparable, DCF, analyses at various prices, LBO / returns);

3)      Understanding of technology company landscape, valuation metrics, industry trends;

4)      Knowledge of European, the UK, and Americas fintech; and

5)      Software platforms to perform financial analyses: CapIQ, Sentio, BamSEC, Gartner, IDC.

 

 

OTHER: Job Site: 300 El Camino Real, Menlo Park, CA 94025; Must be appear in office 3 days per week. Work from home permissible 2 days per week. International travel required up to 40% of the time; 40 hours/week; $330,000/yr - $390,000/yr. If offered employment, the applicant must have legal right to work in U.S. EOE.
