Software Engineer, DoorDash, Inc., San Francisco, CA. Develop, release, and run large-scale web applications. Develop and define the backend architecture and tech stack for a product area. Improve performance, reliability, scalability, and security for our backend systems. Be involved in transitioning our monolithic codebase to a microservice-based architecture. Log and report tools to monitor system health. Understand modern web stacks and architecture (HTTP, REST). Evaluate the technical tradeoffs of every decision. Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources. Provide solutions for system monitoring, live deployments and integrations. Work on systems administration, operations, infrastructure, continuous deployment and backend tech stacks. Work on SQL and NoSQL databases and other technologies (such as Postgres, RabbitMQ, Redis, HAProxy, Nginx, Elasticsearch). Utilize expertise in web technologies such as Rails/Django and JavaScript frameworks. Work with service-oriented architecture, writing REST API’s, unit testing and architectural design. 40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Salary: $215,197 - $255,800/yr. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Systems Administration, or closely related quantitative discipline and two (2) year of experience in the field of network engineering, infrastructure architecture or related role.

In the alternative, will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Systems Administration, or closely related quantitative discipline and five (5) years of progressively responsible post-Bachelor’s experience in the field of network engineering, infrastructure architecture or related role.

Qualifying experience must include two (2) years in at least five (5) of the following skills, which may be gained concurrently;

• Algorithm design and analysis using Java, Scala, or similar;
• Python
• Distributed Systems
• Kafka
• Application development frameworks such as Spring
• Amazon Web Services
• Relational database systems such as Postgres or MySql
• Linux

Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.
