JOB DESCRIPTION: Apple Inc. has multiple positions available for Systems Design Engineer in Cupertino, California. Create and validate automation software to aid factory and lab benchtop data collection for peak power and system coexistence testing. Responsible for all software issues that affect testing. Process, analyze, and visualize all collected data to gain insights into peak power and system coexistence testing, including design-of-experiment management and factory logistics. Understand the impact to end user of data collected. Work with the system electrical engineers (EE) to learn and understand hardware architectural changes which affect testing, and stay informed of hardware changes. Collaborate cross-functionally with module teams to understand how each piece affects peak power and system coexistence. Obtain hardware specifications and figure-of-merit where needed. Attend relevant cross-functional and module meetings to stay informed, provide data updates, and drive issues to closure. Assist System EE and module teams with root cause analysis via targeted testing setups when problems are found. Provide mentorship for system electrical engineers assisting with data collection activities. Travel required 15%.
