JOB DESCRIPTION: Apple Inc. has multiple positions available for Mechanical Quality Engineers in Cupertino, California. Design and manufacture core technologies for products. Analyze drawings and metrology methods for manufacturing mechanical components and assemblies. Review and provide feedback on design and design intent of components and assemblies. Define standard metrology and manufacturing practices. Analyze dimensional quality of incoming components and final products. Identify and drive quality improvement opportunities in future products and manufacturing processes. Drive process corrective actions and improvements in internal and external teams. Drive Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) on new technologies and manufacturing processes. Drive technical Failure Analysis to support root cause analysis and issue resolution. Generate Product Quality Plan (PQP). Develop and drive test correlation, metrology systems, sampling methods, and cosmetics requirements. Monitor quality escalation and other issues. Design and execute experiments to improve product performance. Organize all manufacturing and quality functions for a program. Provide early and ongoing manufacturing feedback during engineering phase. Design and develop technically complex processes to improve quality and efficiency. Develop capable supplier that can be both technology and scaling partners. Establish quality monitoring mechanism which generate meaningful metrics providing indication of outgoing quality at all nodes in supply chain. Travel required 30%.
