JOB DESCRIPTION: Apple Inc. has multiple positions available for Hardware Development Engineer in CUPERTINO, CA. Design, develop, characterize and optimize the LCD optical and electrical performances for Apple products. Responsible for the cross functional team’s LCD development activities to design & develop innovative LCD for Apple system. Research new pixel design and Liquid Crystal driving electrical architecture to achieve optical / electrical performance target. Investigate up-to-date LCD technologies and generate new approaches to further enhance Apple products’ optical performances. Define and review the overall module optical / electrical architecture (both LCD & backlight system) and performance requirements. Achieve performance goals through optical / electrical design optimization, utilizing design simulation tools and prototyping. Analyze the LCD module, TFT, pixel design and fabrication failures to provide corrective action to improve LCD module / TFT design. Define and implement rigorous validation plan for a total display optical performance. Work with system engineering team to understand system and validate display modules at system level. Work with project teams and supply base throughout product development phase and support the initial product ramp.
