JOB DESCRIPTION: Apple Inc. has multiple positions available for Software Development Engineer - Systems in Cupertino, California. Design characterization and performance evaluation of WiFi Features on Apple Products. Responsible for performance benchmarking, characterization of new WiFi software features, and improving WiFi system performance on Apple products. Measure and analyze Wi-Fi and Bluetooth system performance for various coexistence driven scenarios. Build lab test setups that simulate different wireless system conditions and build scripts that aid in analysis. Develop and coordinate software tools and scripts for end-to-end automation of WiFi performance tests. Maintain post-processing tools for metric analysis and calibrate device performance. Triage protocol issues reported from certification and field tests, driving for continuous performance improvements. Classify issues and bugs in the system and help find solutions. Provide recommendations to design team. Propose modifications to existing software and configuration to rectify the issue. Understand WiFi network deployment in enterprise environment. Capture and analyze over the air packet trace to assess deployment configuration and develop tools around it.
