JOB DESCRIPTION: Apple Inc. has multiple positions available for Software Development Engineer - Systems in Cupertino, California. Develop video decoder drivers. Create new features and fix bugs in video decoder drivers for iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, AppleTV, and Macintoshes. Communicate internally on bug fix strategy and testing requirements. Provide estimates for developing new features in the driver. Design multi-threaded software that blocks instead of polling to minimize CPU load in drivers for hardware accelerators. Adopt practices to avoid creating security vulnerabilities: use “smart” pointers to avoid buffer overflows and sanitize untrusted inputs.
