JOB DESCRIPTION: Apple Inc. has multiple positions available for Software Development Engineer in Cupertino, California. Develop and test novel signal processing algorithms for sensors including radar, lidar, and camera. Conceive and develop signal processing techniques for imaging using millimeter-wave radar sensors. Work with internal customers to identify requirements, develop and validate solutions, and communicate potential impacts. Model and simulate sensors, including the physical system, modulation, hardware impairments, and realistic targets. Design, implement, and test signal processing algorithms, including but not limited to tracking, compression, visualization, and feature extraction. Design laboratory and real-world tests to exercise and challenge the signal processing algorithms, and analyze the results. Integrate and validate novel signal processing routines within frameworks developed by internal customers, communicating results and potential benefits to encourage adoption of said routines. Optimize signal processing algorithms to meet processing throughput and memory constraints and requirements. Collaborate effectively with a cross-functional team of hardware, software, and system specialists. Independently recommend lines of research and system architecture improvements to enhance sensor performance. $161,000.00 - $242,000.00/yr.
