JOB DESCRIPTION: Apple Inc. has multiple positions available for Optical Science Engineers in Cupertino, California. Design and develop optical systems for proof of concept demonstrations. The work involves optical simulations, numerical optimization, and signal processing. Conduct detailed simulation of novel optical device prototypes using a collection of custom and off-the-shelf software to improve the user experience of those prototypes. Analyze data gathered from the simulation as well as user experience studies and identify aspects of optical design in need of improvement. Propose improved optical designs using custom numerical optimization routines. Collaborate with a team of scientists and engineers with diverse technical backgrounds to develop the next generation of products. $130,000 - $196,500/yr.
