JOB DESCRIPTION: Apple Inc. has multiple positions available for Software Development Engineer in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design and develop software for Apple block store. Responsible for working on storage device optimized low-level storage, large-scale distributed systems, and high-performance IO stacks operating at mission critical levels of availability and durability. Research, design, develop, implement, and debug storage software. Collaborate with other engineers on the team to cut through ambiguity, take into account short- and long-term technical solutions while implementing software solutions at Apple. Review software source code to identify defects and performance issues. Work with cross-functional teams to support block software on apple data centers. Analyze software performance problems and implement optimizations. Design software solutions problems defined in the roadmap. Code in Rust language. Work with stakeholders to cut through ambiguity and provide clarity on problem statement requirements. Mentor engineers on the team.  $161,000.00 - $242,000.00/yr.
