Field Service Engineer, Lam Research Corporation, Fremont, CA. Responsible for providing quality repair, preventive maintenance service and complete installation and relocation start-up service of complex electromechanical and electronic systems at customer sites. Perform analytical problem-solving at the component level. Troubleshoot equipment problems and conduct diagnostic procedures to isolate problems and take steps to minimize downtime or system interruptions and eliminate equipment malfunctions. Determine corrective actions as required. Install and/or relocate equipment at customers’ sites. Conduct associated start-up, cut over and check-out activities on the newly installed system. Remain up to date on equipment/tools through appropriate training, manuals, factory periodicals and other relevant materials. Maintain records and reports as required to properly coordinate activities with peers, supervisors(s) and customers. Perform field modifications and updates as released in Engineering Change Notifications. Provide technical instruction and leadership on installs, repairs, operations and calibrations.

40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. $94,439 – $137,000/yr. 

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside in California and most states. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Chemical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field, plus two (2) years of repair, maintenance and installation experience of complex electromechanical and electronic systems.

Employer will also accept two (2) years of additional experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.

Must have 1 year of experience in installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment.

Must have 1 year of experience interpreting operation manuals to determine root cause of tool failures.

Must have 1 year of experience in: deposition systems; failure mode analysis; helium leak detection technique; pneumatics; vacuum fundamentals; or robotics.

Must have 1 year of experience working from electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams.

Roving employee. Requires up to 100% travel to unanticipated client sites throughout the U.S.
