Product Engineer (Multiple Positions), Lam Research Corporation, Fremont, CA. Work on new product introduction and production support engineering for a specific product or group of products. Drive the improvement of the remote factory suppliers’ quality and manufacturing processes to ensure product quality, cost, and on-time delivery. Interface with design, process, test, reliability, and manufacturing engineering to solve product issues and production problems. Develop and sustain process improvements to reduce production costs and increase yields. Perform professional product engineering research, design, development, modification, and evaluation in support of improving productivity performance of company’s equipment and systems. Generate and/or direct experimental tasks and verify accuracy of final documentation. Analyze and select components and equipment, as well as evaluate supplier capabilities. Design and conduct independent experiments or tests. Define problems and objective, develop approach, analyze results, and provide recommendations. Prepare and analyze test plans and procedures to assure that technical and operational requirements are met and properly demonstrated.

40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. $143,222 - $216,000/yr. 

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside in California and most states. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Master’s degree in Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field, plus 2 years of experience in product engineering.

Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in 2 of the following: electro-mechanical system design and manufacturing; systems engineering and integration; statistical methods for modeling multivariate data sets; statistical process control; plasma modeling; vacuum systems; or semiconductors.

Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience operating 4 of the following instruments/techniques: Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM); CDSEM; XPS; Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR); Ellipsometry; EDX; Optical Emission Spectroscopy; Laser spectroscopy; Spectrashape; oscilloscope; or spectrometer.

Must have at least 1 year of experience in 1 of the following software/programs: CAD; OrCAD; LabView; Matlab; JMP; OpenMP; Fortran; C; C#; Python; CCM+; Fluent; Comsol; Origin; or Maxwell.

Experience may be gained while in graduate school.
