Software Engineer (Multiple Positions)

Software Engineer (Multiple Positions), DoorDash, Inc., San Francisco, CA. Develop, design, and work on SQL and NoSQL databases. Perform systems administration, and work on operation, infrastructure, continuous deployment, and backend tech stacks in order to further application, interface, and data infrastructure development. Perform texting to effectively log, report, and monitor software system health. Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources and user experience. Draw modern web stacks and architecture including HTTP and REST. Perform unit tests and analyze resulting implications for architectural design and system improvements. Evaluate the technical trade-offs of every software project decision, analyze data to inform recommendations, and automate wherever possible. Research, develop, release, and run large scale web applications and identify solutions for system monitoring, live deployments, and integrations. Involve in transitioning DoorDash's code base to a micro-service based architecture as needed. Conduct tests and review in order to improve performance, reliability, scalability, and security for our applications and software overall. Mentor and provide technical leadership to the team of engineers through reviewing teammates' code and architecture decision, and collaboration on software projects. Participate in any company-wide training programs (WeDash, etc.). Telecommuting permitted. (SWE-BR-400-CA).

40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.  

Salary Range: $144,500 - $195,500/yr. 


Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or a closely related discipline plus two (2) years of experience in software engineering/development or program analytics.

Must have experience in/with the following skills:

  • Programming languages such as Java, Python, C/C++;
  • JavaScript;
  • SQL or NoSQL Database;
  • Distributed Systems;
  • REST APIs; and
  • Agile or Scrum methodology.

Experience can be gained through work experience, academic coursework, or scholastic achievement. Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.

Up to 10% domestic travel for team on-sites based on business need.
