JOB DESCRIPTION: APPLE INC has the following available for Mechanical Design Engineer (REQ# 200604453) in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Create physical prototypes of designs, while utilizing modeling computer-aided design (CAD) programs such as NX. Set up and quality check tools in support of machining parts to assist Apple in creating high‐quality models used in the industrial design and product development process. Interpret and define the design intent of the industrial designer using NX software while directly collaborating with mechanical engineering, packaging, and tooling teams to evaluate the feasibility of design concepts. Perform non‐computer numerical control (CNC) tasks, including non‐CNC equipment operation, hand‐work, operations, inspections, and saw‐cut operations. Calibrate and quality check complex tools and machining parts for use in the industrial design process. Utilize various inspection pins and block gages, calipers, and micrometers. Utilize knowledge of raw crafting materials, their integration into consumer products, and the volume/inventory required. Use data and analytics to develop numerous product concepts, detailed appearance models, and product-level surfaces used in tooling for manufacturing.

The base pay range for this role is between $122,300 - $184,600/yr. and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
