Senior Software Engineer, Data (Argo), DoorDash, Inc., Sunnyvale, CA. Lead the design, development, and optimization of large-scale technical solutions. Translate complex customer and business objectives into actionable, scoped sub-problems and project initiatives for cross-functional teams, acting as the primary project owner for multiple OKR-aligned initiatives and delivering critical customer-facing and internal engineering features. Oversee the migration of data retrieval traffic from Elasticsearch to in-house search indexes; design and implement real-time item carousel technology and consolidate retail item popularity data into search indexes. Drive architectural improvements, manage high-impact projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of features. Design reusable, extensible, and self-service solutions that improve team velocity and reduce technical debt. Lead launch reviews, resolve production regressions, enhance system reliability, and provide mentorship through technical design and code reviews to foster a collaborative, growth-focused environment. 40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Salary Range: $199,534 - $282,000/yr.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Design Engineering, or a closely related field plus four (4) years of experience in software engineering or program analysis.

Qualifying experience must include the following skills (which may be gained concurrently):

• Distributed data systems, such as CockroachDB, Pinot DB, Redis, or Elasticsearch.

• Databases/data warehouses, such as Snowflake, Redshift, DynamoDB, or Hive.

• Cloud computing resources and technologies, such as AWS or GCP.

• Distributed ecosystems and real-time streaming tools, such as Spark, Kafka, or Kinesis.

• Container orchestration tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.

• Version control tools like Git or SVN.

• Monitoring and logging tools, such as Chronosphere or Scalyr.

Up to 10% travel (domestic) based on business need.
