JOB DESCRIPTION: APPLE INC has the following available for Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (REQ# 200607144) in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Partner with development engineering teams to evaluate various mass production process technologies, equipment designs, and suppliers by engaging with display component and module suppliers on proprietary processes such as die-cutting, electronic substrate bonding, and flex bending. Identify and select the best methods for mass production by evaluating factors such as cost, efficiency, yield and scalability. Review supplier’s design, process flow, equipment selection, Design for Manufacture (DFM), and Design of Experiment (DOE) proposals to ensure they meet quality standards. Plan validation exercises to demonstrate initial and mass production feasibility using prototype builds and corner-case testing. Perform risk assessments, identify mitigations and corrective actions to ensure design compliance to pre-defined specifications utilizing tools like Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). Work with engineering teams, operations teams, equipment vendors and system integrators to ensure that quality and reliability expectations are defined and communicated clearly. Assess supplier production readiness to support build and production ramp activities, such as process modifications, enhanced quality control measures, or the implementation of new processes to improve display module manufacturing quality. Lead roll-out of equipment, material, and process across the Apple supply chain. Optimize engineering processes and equipment for yield, quality, reliability, throughput, and ramp the new equipment and process into full mass production by continuous improvement initiatives, performance monitoring, and ongoing coordination with cross-functional teams. International travel required 30%.

The base pay range for this role is between $122,300 - $184,600/yr. and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
