JOB DESCRIPTION: APPLE INC has the following available for Manufacturing Design Engineer (REQ# 200609483) in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Develop and implement cleaning cycles for an array of substrates and geometries to enable subsequent decorative coatings at highest yield. Develop and implement engineered surfaces to meet Apple specifications for cosmetics, function, and reliability at highest yield. Collaborate with best-in-class equipment and consumables vendors to develop and implement custom Mass Production (MP) feasible solutions to achieve aggressive targets for yield and cost. Design and execute experiments to optimize process to meet aggressive targets for yield and product quality. Collaborate with Apple Industrial design, Product design and Manufacturing Design to set working specifications for engineered surfaces. Conduct extensive failure analysis and surface characterization to root-cause technical issues and/or define specifications. Develop MP feasible processes and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to validate through engineering builds. Collect, analyze, and present data to key decision makers to help drive design and commercial decisions. Drive overseas manufacturers to implement solutions at MP targets for yield and cost. 30% Domestic and International Travel Required.

The base pay range for this role is between $178,400 - $268,500/yr. and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
