JOB TITLE: Industrial Design Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION: APPLE INC has the following available for Industrial Design Engineer (REQ# 200605867) in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Combine artistic talent with research on product use and materials to create the most functional and appealing product design. Collaborating with multi-functional teams, including engineering, human factors, manufacturing, and marketing to bring new products to life, including iPhone, Mac computers, wearables, accessories, and the product packaging. Sketch alongside other designers throughout the design process to communicate ideas of form, color and material exploration, and experience use cases to multi-functional teams to solve design problems. Build physical models, including simple paper models, quick prototypes using found and mixed media, 3D prints, and detailed 3D physical models using 2D drawing software and 3D CAD software. Perform on-site collaborative work in confidential labs to understand technical challenges and provide creative solutions, including reviewing 2D and 3D CAD and engineering prototypes, and under regulated lighting conditions to refine materials, color, and finish and provide direction to manufacturing specialists. Contribute to human factors research including product reliability testing, design of the testing protocol, user interviews and provide specific feedback on products. Define specification for the user experience and product reliability. International and Domestic Travel Required 10%.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 - $264,200/yr. and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
