JOB DESCRIPTION: APPLE INC has the following available for System Product Design Engineer Manager (REQ# 200612778) in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Designs, develops and engineers customer facing hardware products. Collaborates directly and independently with industrial design, marketing, manufacturing and technology groups to build product-level definition. Sets specifications and requirements of the physical product that meet the design, feature, innovation, operational and financial goals of the product. Coordinates and manages integration of mechanical and kinematic structures, advanced materials development, and electro-mechanical subsystems including PCB/flex, antenna, sensors, magnets and modules including product level tradeoffs. Produces and validates mass production capable design, by coordinating hardware, core technology, reliability, operations, automation, quality, marketing and vendor partners. Provides leadership and direction of design activities through all stages of the product life-cycle, from concept definition through production release and end of life. Responsible for project team leadership – providing technical direction and review throughout the new product development process – as well as interviewing, hiring, and managing employees, including partnering with the employee and team members for sustained technical and professional development. The base pay range for this role is between $228,100 - $342,800/yr. and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
