JOB DESCRIPTION: Apple Inc. has multiple positions available for Software Development Engineers in Cupertino, CA. Design and develop software for networking libraries used in macOS and iOS. Research, design, implement, and debug networking libraries used by applications on macOS and iOS. Utilize existing library code to modify and enhance existing protocol support without introducing bugs or performance issues. Program and develop a robust, high performance HTTP library. Investigate and identify compatibility and performance design issues. Implement and debug implementations of networking standards. Analyze packet traces in a packet analyzer, program crash logs and spins, program leaks output, customer logs and internal debug logs. Use a command-debugger to discover the root cause of customer-facing issues in 1st and 3rd party applications and frameworks within macOS and iOS. Work with Apple’s application, framework, kernel and telephony teams on desktop and mobile platforms to combine software engineering techniques with next-generation hardware. Perform multithreaded programming and cross-platform development. Write automated tests to verify correct functioning of network issues and conduct performance investigation to identify hot spots and critical paths to resolve issues that occur.
