DUTIES: Apple Inc. has multiple positions available for Software Development Engineers in Cupertino, CA. Develop and maintain optimized software for image compression, decompression and recompression. Enhance efficiency and quality of image compression on Apple’s mobile devices. Perform various image processing operations such as rescaling, filtering and recompression. Analyze, research, and evaluate algorithmic models for data compression and imaging software. Use techniques such as vectorization, parallelization and memory reduction to optimize image processing routines. Optimize image processing algorithms for power consumption reduction and battery life extension on embedded devices. Develop and maintain system frameworks for image compression and processing. Develop and employ lossless data compression techniques to reduce storage requirements on portable devices, desktops and servers. Develop new algorithms for image compression and image analysis. Contribute to standardization of image formats that enables precise interoperability points for creating, parsing, decoding and displaying images. Enhance efficiency and quality of image compression on Apple’s devices.
