JOB DESCRIPTION: Apple Inc. has multiple positions available for Software Development Engineer in Cupertino, California. Lead design and development of web content processing frameworks for web search indexing, ranking, information extraction and machine learning applications. Lead cross- functional feature development, coordinating with stakeholders, documenting requirements and software systems. Mentor junior engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and incident postmortems. Define key performance indicators, analyze metrics and logs to find issues, and develop proposed solutions, surfacing to the appropriate team or leader. Work with teams across the company to create industry-leading content-understanding capabilities across web pages and other content. Program and develop high-throughput HTTP application programming interfaces. Program and develop batch processing systems. Program and develop event-sourced infrastructure using Kafka. Debug code for functional and performance issues. Develop, train and evaluate methods for natural language processing of textual data to extract valuable information. Propose, implement, and monitor improvements to web crawling efficiency.
