JOB DESCRIPTION: Apple Inc. has multiple positions available for Software Development Engineer - Apps in Cupertino, CA. Build Apple’s platform for video ingestion and processing, and participate in the innovation that will drive the next generation of video features at Apple. Work on high scale systems that are used to support iTunes Films / TV, AppleTV+, AppleTV Channels services. Work developing API endpoints and build cloud based encoding system that must be secure and highly performant using Java. Design and implement new data sources using SQL and Oracle for transactional request, as well as faster access data sources in Cassandra. Work on integrating this new system with the existing business logic to trigger processing request, requiring detail knowledge on the REST API client calls and ProtoBuf technology. Use best practices and unit testing frameworks to ensure all code written is properly tested and validated before committing it to the main repository. Write code for new featured for 80% of the time and the rest will be spend on design and architecture. Migrate the existing database schemas to a modern No-SQL database. Develop a new Micro-service based architecture to support the new datastore for existing data.
