JOB DESCRIPTION: Apple Inc. has multiple positions available for Software Development Engineer in Cupertino, CA. Design and develop low level system software (kernel and/or firmware) for Apple’s operating system. Design and develop device drivers for peripheral sensors on Apple’s operating systems (iOS, macOS, etc), using skills in C++ programming, operating system programming IOKit. Work on core technology for iOS including design and implementation of Apple’s embedded operating system products. Design and implement drivers and frameworks and driving product features and function/industry specifications. Perform new hardware bring-up, verification and debugging of sensors on new hardware platforms. Apply solid knowledge of fundamental OS concepts, embedded processors and system architecture in embedded environment to develop embedded system software with skills in assembly level programming and low level hardware architecture, such as advanced RISC machine (ARM). Debug, investigate and solve system level problems that involve both hardware and software. Design and implement supporting and testing tools that help the implementation and improvements for Apple’s products. Work with cross-functional teams to support product requirements for embedded products. Leverage expertise and fundamental knowledge with embedded processors and operating system concepts.
