JOB DESCRIPTION: Apple Inc. has multiple positions available for Software Development Engineers in Cupertino, CA. Responsible for designing and developing driver software for GPUs in Macs. Design and implement new Metal Graphics and API features in the drivers for GPUs in Macs. Responsible for implementation of both user mode and kernel mode drivers related to the graphics drivers. Work with Compiler and Metal frameworks teams to analyze, scope, and design the requirements from the Metal driver features. Able to instrument, analyze, collect traces, and logs to address highly critical issues related to security and stability of graphics drivers in Macs. Responsible for evangelizing, aiding, and helping developers across the world with regards to adoption of the graphics APIs in many apps. Responsible for debugging user mode, kernel mode, and firmware drivers that address functional issues. Responsible for using internal tools to address GPU hangs on regular and stress scenarios. Able to bring-up acceleration on future hardware (GPUs) that goes into future Macs as well as future Apple display hardware. Responsible for implementing new hardware (GPUs) features in the drivers to accelerate both Metal and hardware specific features.
