JOB DESCRIPTION: Apple Inc. has multiple positions available for Software Development Engineer – Applications in Cupertino, California. Design and develop downlink firmware for 4G LTE and 5G NR wireless systems. Work with silicon designers to define processor, bus, hardware interfaces, and memory. Develop presilicon emulation systems/virtual platforms and use them for pre-silicon firmware. Perform formal verification and tests of the Downlink physical layer algorithms. Develop interfaces between downlink physical layer modem firmware and layer 1 control and radio frequency (RF) software. Debug difficult over the air downlink performance issues and 3GPP spec compliance failures. Bring up and validate downlink baseband and RF interfaces on field-programmable gate array (FPGA) and silicon. $161,000.00 - $242,000.00/yr.
