TITLE: Director, Advanced Analytics

Job Description: Employs methods from Operations Research, Statistics and Machine Learning
to solve problems for Gap by developing models or analyses. Communicates regularly to
stakeholders to understand their analytical needs and present our findings. Codes in statistical and
data programming languages such as Python and SQL. Collaborates with business partners to
translate high impact business opportunities into analytic frameworks, business requirements, and
plans to support model development. Collaborates and leads others in key initiatives and their
implementation. Responsible for planning, budget, and end results; sets policies and strategic
direction for area/team. Provides coaching and guidance for a team of Analysts and Managers.
Telecommuting permissible from anywhere in the US.

Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Industrial Engineering,
Operations Research, Statistics, or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-
baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related role.

Experience and/or education must include:
1. Knowledge of Statistics: statistical data analysis including cleaning and manipulating
data, knowledge of regression techniques
2. Optimization methods used in operations research: using different operations
research methods to solve inventory optimization problems.
3. Knowledge of price and revenue optimization models to drive optimal business
outcomes
4. Python Programming language: Working with large data sets from different data
sources – merging, cleansing, and filtering data as needed to prep for data analysis or
modeling.
5. Database structured query software (SQL) and querying using SQL.
6. Data Visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI for exploratory data analysis and
to analyze model results.
