Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Lead a team of software engineers responsible for the backend and AI/ML development of a major productivity software. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide mentoring and feedback to individual team members, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and growth. Coordinate with cross-functional leaders to ensure alignment of engineering goals with broader organizational objectives. Collaborate with product management, user experience designers, and other stakeholders to define product requirements, technical specifications, and system designs. Prioritize engineering projects based on company goals, technical challenges, and stakeholder feedback. Plan and execute software releases, ensuring that the team meets quality standards and deadlines. Ensure the architecture of the backend systems is scalable, reliable, and secure. Regularly review and advise on the codebase, ensuring adherence to best practices and maintaining a high standard of code quality. Stay updated with the latest technologies, tools, and techniques in backend development and advocate for their adoption when beneficial. Ensure the high availability, reliability, and performance of backend systems supporting the document platform. Develop and maintain procedures for system troubleshooting, recovery, and performance tuning. Oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and necessary upgrades of backend systems and services. Oversee the hiring, onboarding, and training of new engineering team members, ensuring a consistent pipeline of talent. Facilitate regular team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and discuss future initiatives. Act as a primary point of contact for technical queries when issues arises. Communicate effectively with senior management and other departments, providing updates on engineering progress, challenges, and needs. Identify potential risks in the system and work proactively with the team to develop mitigation strategies.

The base pay range for this role is between $227,695 - $329,600/yr. and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
