JOB TITLE: Software Development Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION: APPLE INC has the following available for Software Development Engineer (REQ# 200605508) in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Solve complicated problems with coding and design software for applications. Work as part of an extraordinary team, including world-class software engineers and expert machine learning practitioners who are all passionate about applying groundbreaking techniques to conversational dialogue. Develop the software services at scale that Apple users interact with when using Siri. Add user impacting features to Siri and provide the software that supports and integrates machine learning models within Siri’s architecture to make Siri more intelligent. Work closely with teams across Apple worldwide. Develop and improve monitoring, alerting and testing infrastructure to ensure world class quality of Siri’s services. Monitor key quality indicators and establish root cause analysis for operational issues. Escalate and drive priority of resolution in timely manner both within the Siri org and in cross functional teams engineering in Apple. Analyze inbound defect reports, establish root causes as well as impact and risk assessment estimates and recommended timelines for resolution. Drive fixes and test development to ensure appropriate defect resolution and future coverage. Work with cross functional teams in Apple to design and deliver Siri in the Home features. Draft, review and maintain engineering documentation on systems, processes and best practices. Help onboard and mentor new engineers.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 - $264,200/yr. and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
