JOB DESCRIPTION: APPLE INC has the following available for Software Development Engineer (REQ# 200605457) in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design, build, and maintain robotic fixtures for automated customer scenario testing of iPhones, iPads, and their accessories. Participate in the electrical and mechanical design of automated test fixtures, including mechatronic/robotic systems to manipulate test devices/accessories. Integrate commercial actuators and sensors for testing of prototype products and features. Computer-aided design of mechanical/structural components for automated test equipment. Manufacturer of mechanical/structural components for automated test equipment via 3D printing or CNC machining. Design and implement a Python framework to run customer scenario test in an automated, repeatable, and scalable manner. Implement analysis tools to extract key performance indicator metrics from test device or sensor data. Write the actual Python tests for these customer scenario, including user-representative interactions with Pencil and Keyboards accessories (providing input to the test device via drawing or keystrokes) and validating functionality of the features through measuring key performance indicators. Gather, visualize, and analyze the vast amounts of data generated and serve as the customer advocate by driving fixes for issues with the relevant teams. Generate test reports summarizing key findings, issues, and metrics from testing. Develop infrastructure deployment solutions with Ansible to manage a fleet of testing computers and equipment.

The base pay range for this role is between $146,307 - $214,500/yr. and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
