JOB TITLE: Software Development Engineer - Systems

JOB DESCRIPTION: APPLE INC has the following available for Software Development Engineer - Systems (REQ# 200607903) in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design and develop driver software for Neural Engine subsystems for use in Machine Learning applications in Apple’s products (Mac, iPhone, AppleWatch, AppleTV, HomePod, iPad, etc). Work on ANE feature specifications, pre-silicon validation, silicon bring-up, API development, and tools creation, should work with other teams to define features and communication protocols, and detail the requirements clearly with implementation specifications. scoping, design, implementation and testing. Work on efficient ANE to GPU, ANE to ISP and ANE to CPU handoffs for improving the performance of machine learning acceleration. Work on highly performant and low power load balancing software on systems with multiple neural engines. Implement the components in iOS/Mac/WatchOS/iPadOS environment using ObjectiveC/C++ languages and creating respective component tests. Optimize to improve the performance of software. Debug the components with debug tools and fix identified issues. Support products from the early development and prototype phases, through to mass production. Work on HW validation and provide software support to factory testing.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $146,307 - $214,500/yr. and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
