JOB DESCRIPTION: APPLE INC has the following available for Silicon Validation Engineer (REQ# 200607904) in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Develop bare metal SW responsible for validating the CPU in a post-silicon environment and to support bring-up of the CPU on new SoCs. Develop and execute tests that make use of the ARM instruction Set Architecture. Develop test tools using the C language to validate new CPU micro-architectural features on all Apple designed SoCs. Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate test execution across multiple SoCs in a validation lab. Develop and maintain Python scripts to extract and analyze test run time and coverage data. Debug low level software issues and hardware issues using knowledge of computer architecture with the help of internal debug tools and logs. Support execution of silicon validation tools with other environments like emulation, FPGA, and in some cases, simulation. Communicate with Design Verification and RTL teams to help root-cause any CPU design bugs and validate HW fixes of known issues. Use C programming skills, computer architecture knowledge, python scripting, and RTL knowledge to design firmware to validate hypervisor functionality in the CPU.

The base pay range for this role is between $151,091 - $214,500/yr. and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
