TITLE:Software Engineer

Job Description: Build, design and test MongoDB Atlas Search, which is a service of full text search and vector search. Build and design applications, written in Java. Take responsibility for the planning and execution of major features, representing Engineering when working with Product and Design. Perform code reviews with peers and make recommendations on how to improve our code and software development processes. Provide unit, integration, and End-to-End testing for new features and bug fixes. Write scope and spec documentation for new features, designs and architectures. Debug distributed applications in production and test environments. Mentor junior team members and support the onboarding process. Must appear in office 2 days per week; WFH permissible 3 days per week.

Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer engineering, or related field and one (1) year of experience in backend software systems or in the job offered or a related role.

Experience and/or education must include:  

1. Java, C++ or other similar backend programming for latency sensitive systems;

2. Unit, Integration, and End-to-End testing for new features and bug fixes;

3. Performance testing, or profiling, or analysis, or optimization of latency sensitive software;

4. Production application health monitoring and customer support to resolve issues involving intricate system knowledge;

5. Experience in stress testing, smoke testing, regression testing, extended tests, integration testing, and end to end testing; 

6. Programming and development using IntelliJ Ultimate or other similar environments;

7. Project management experience in JIRA (Atlassian) or other similar software;

8. Experience navigating and writing documentation in Confluence (Atlassian) and Google Workspace or other similar tools; and

9. Knowledge of how to use git or other similar technology for software version control

JOB SITE: 88 Kearny St, San Francisco, CA 94108. Must appear in office 2 days per week; WFH permissible 3 days per week.
