JOB TITLE: Software Development Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION: APPLE INC has the following available for Software Development Engineer (REQ# 200605471) in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Build customer-facing webservices, focusing on authentication, authorization, scaling, availability, security, and reliability. Develop software systems: write code conforming to system design, compile and test the code locally, integrate the code into a fully functional software system, deploy the code for worldwide usage, and monitor usage and evaluate performance. Design and architect software systems by understanding customer requirements, ensuring development of architecture for software systems, developing detailed designs for software systems, ensuring proposed designs satisfy privacy and security requirements, validating designs for feasibility, and assessing cost benefits of designs versus other options. Write unit and integration tests for new code, run end-to-end tests with cross-functional teams, and develop enhanced testing frameworks for validating functionality. Support existing and new product features by building support methodologies for new product features, releasing new features while ensuring compatibility across devices and setting up alerting in systems for issues. Support and debug production issues: investigate issues and provide updates, discuss root causes and propose fixes, and integrate fixes in the software and release to Apple customers.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 - $264,200/yr. and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
