JOB TITLE: Software Development Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION: APPLE INC has the following available for Software Development Engineer  (REQ# 200612776) in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Serve as part of the Cyrus provisioning ceremonies which makes the federations or Cyrus work unit creations documented and monitored for legal purposes and also to maintain the security guarantees that Apple promises its users. Work on scaling of the Cyrus service to handle the thousands of request/sec. Work with operations team to co-ordinate the delivery of the Cyrus services to the federation. Explore the new hardware platform. Device methodologies for secure packaging of Cyrus code on the new platform. Automate pipelines for continuous delivery of the Cyrus package to hundreds of servers with the new hardware. Analyze traffic patterns to understand resource usage of systems. Investigate anomalies and following up with cross functional teams to understand cause. Use knowledge of systems usage to drive optimizations and improvements to Cyrus and Escrow Proxy. Monitor production services during deployment changes. Validate functionality enhancements and fixes. Investigate and troubleshoot issues during outages. Support services as part of a 24x7 On-call rotation. Work on the automation of service stability using home grown workflows solutions which would reduce engineering overhead and also improve service availability. Work on automating migration of Cyrus work units when hardware failures are detected.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 - $220,900/yr. and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
