Software Engineer (L3) (Multiple Positions), Databricks, Inc., Mountain View, CA. Responsible for developing and extending the Databricks cloud-hosted SaaS platform by developing knowledge of large scale distributed systems. Write software in Scala, Python or Javascript and/or interact with cloud APIs, with open source and third party APIs and software, and internal APIs. Learn about the full SDLC. Design, develop, test and operate in production. Architect solutions to achieve a high level of reliability, scalability, and security. Collaborate effectively with fellow engineers, product managers, and other cross-functional teams. Operate in an Agile development environment. Telecommuting permitted. (DBxCA030)

40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. $146,307 - $160,000/yr.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field and one (1) year of software engineering experience.

Qualifying experience must include one (1) year in Object-oriented programming languages including Java, Scala, Javascript, C++ or Python.

Qualifying experience must also include one (1) year in at least six (6) of the following (which may be gained concurrently):

-         Multithreading and asynchronous programming;

-         Agile or Scrum methodologies;

-         Open-source and third party APIs;

-         Microservices-based architectures;

-         Unit and integration testing;

-         Running and maintaining reliable, secure and scalable services;

-         Version control, including Git, XCode, Visual Studio, or IntelliJ;

-         Cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP;

-         Docker, Kubernetes or similar;

-         Databases such as SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra or similar; and

-         Distributed systems and big data systems, such as Apache Spark, Hive, or Hadoop.
