JOB DESCRIPTION: APPLE INC has the following available for Module Design Engineer (REQ# 200625591) in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Own the end-to-end design, development and validation of sensing technology into Apple’s portfolio of products. Work with a multifunctional team to generate design concepts and be responsible for engineering analysis and documentation for the project. Identify design tradeoffs and risks to choose viable paths forward. Perform and analyze results from Electrical simulations and benchtop testing on early-build touch module samples to validate product performance and identify and rectify failures. Ensure a ‘guarantee by design’ approach with tolerance studies and simulation to ensure designs meet requirements over manufacturing, process, and reliability conditions. Design and coordinate the fabrication for test PCBs mechanical component outlines (MCOs) and fixtures to support validation efforts as well as touch sensors, flexible printed circuits, and glass-sensor assemblies for future product scoping. Drive issue resolution to meet Apple’s high customer experience and industrial design standards. During prototyping and validation phases, support external manufacturing vendors with process development and root cause analysis for issues found during testing to improve production efficiency and product performance. Conduct engineering competitive analysis of current products in the market, including mechanical teardowns, touch technology identification, stack-up layer identification, optical performance, and touch ASIC capability identification.

The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 - $220,900/yr. and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
