TITLE: Senior Project Engineer
DUTIES:
Provide and lead design engineering support to develop tracker layouts, CAD blocks, mechanical sets, bill of materials, and full construction plan sets. Review pertinent site information, engineering design inputs, and assist in selecting appropriate product types based on site conditions. Duties include working with a team of other engineers updating new product configurations, drafting engineering standards and potentially developing automation procedures; coordinating Nextpower’s Project Designers and Engineers in the local region and other regions to create and update new product standards, engineering design changes, and project-related issues; and working with the Project Engineering team to conduct value engineering exercises to lower costs on an individual project basis. Provide topography analysis and hydrology analysis in order to determine the best tracker placement. Assist with internal and external escalations and assist Project Engineers on training and customer calls. Serve as the technical customer facing representatives for all Tier 1 and 2 customer projects and be responsible for all major engineering and design related project decisions. Serve as subject matter experts and the liaison between Product, R&D, Supply Chain, and Software departments for all project specific design aspects and implementation. 10% domestic and international travel to company headquarters in Fremont, CA and other regional offices or Project Sites.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree* in engineering, architecture, or a related field, or foreign degree equivalent; and 4 years of solar tracker power plant design engineering experience and 4 years of AutoCAD experience, including Civil 3D.

SALARY: $172,506 per year
LOCATION: 40 hours/week in Fremont, CA (telecommuting from anywhere in the US is permitted)
