TITLE: Software Engineer 3
Job Description: Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and release automation infrastructure. Develop automation tooling to manage software releases across development, QA, and production environments. Build and maintain container image publishing workflows. Create scripts and tools for cross-repository configuration management. Configure and maintain build system projects and pipelines. Troubleshoot build failures, dependency conflicts, and infrastructure issues. Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment processes. Manage software releases, including scheduling, communicating release timelines and delays to stakeholders, and assessing quality issues. Measure code health and its impact on developer productivity, including troubleshooting issues and implementing tooling improvements. Less than 10% domestic travel required. Must live within reasonable commuting distance of SF office and able to appear in office as required.
Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a related role.
Experience and/or education must include:
Proficiency in Python for designing, implementing, and maintaining automation that supports CI/CD pipelines, continuous testing frameworks, and multi repository release workflows.
Advanced Bash scripting skills for configuration management, version manifest generation, and release metadata tooling.
Experience with Java based test frameworks, including the ability to extend end to end, upgrade, rollback, and feature flag validation suites to ensure reliability and performance of release artifacts.
Experience with Git based workflows, including merge queue operations, monitoring and optimizing merge reliability, and evolving repository conventions to support stable and observable release pipelines.
Knowledge of containerized release workflows, including Docker image build, tagging, security updates, SSDLC compliance, and integration of container images into automated release and validation environments.
Hands on experience with AWS services such as S3 and ECR for storing, versioning, and distributing release artifacts and container images, including management of buckets, repositories, and cloud integrated release processes.
Ability to build AWS integrated automation, including CLI driven tooling and credential management helpers that support secure publishing, environment specific rollouts, and validation of new binaries.
