TITLE: Sr. Product Manager, Performance Applications
DUTIES:
Establish new customer-facing software products and be accountable for defining roadmap, development and launch activities. Create and evaluate business cases and prioritize new product development and improvement programs. Perform regular product status and strategy reviews with executive leadership, evaluate the competitive landscape and support key customer engagements, collect customer needs and feedback. Guide technical product marketing initiatives and drive product leadership cross functionally across sales, R&D, software development, asset management, customer service and other key stakeholder groups as required. Duties will include identifying and understanding customer pain points and opportunities; defining user personas, craft user stories, and design application flows to create a seamless user experience; analyze investment and maintenance expenditures related to development initiatives; evaluate customer value propositions, IRR (Internal Rate of Return), and other financial metrics when necessary to craft compelling narratives; and act as a liaison between our team and customers by participating in customer calls and facilitating product demos in order to align our products with customer needs. Collaborate closely with engineering team to develop dashboards and software applications. Empower our customers to track their plant performance, assess operational impacts, and evaluate the efficacy of Nextpower products and features. Work with engineers to define digital twin requirements, computation engine specifications, and model requirements, ensuring the technical underpinnings of our solutions are robust and aligned with customer needs. Drive the development of meaningful performance and operational metrics to measure the success of our products and inform continuous improvement efforts. Engage in software architecture discussions, API definitions, database structures, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to support our agile scrum teams in your capacity as a product owner. 10% domestic and international travel required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or foreign degree equivalent; and 8 years of progressive, post baccalaureate experience with utility scale solar projects. Position also requires 5 years of experience in product management with a focus on software platforms, cloud data systems, or analytics tools; 4 years of experience successfully launching enterprise SaaS products in the clean tech or energy space; 5 years of experience in Python, SQL, and cloud environments (Azure or AWS); and 4 years of experience leading agile teams and working closely with software developers and data engineers.
SALARY: $228,963 - $250,000 per year
LOCATION: 40 hours/week in Fremont, CA (telecommuting one day per week permitted)
