DUTIES: Apple Inc. has multiple positions available for Hardware Development Engineer in Cupertino, California. Design and integrate state-of-the-art solid-state fingerprint sensors for mobile devices. Engage in system-level prototyping and integration of future sensor solutions, including analog circuit design and circuit optimization to meet signal and power integrity requirements, as well as coexistence with other sub-systems in the final product. Perform characterization and validation of sensor designs. Responsible for electrical validation, temperature testing, and data analysis to ensure performance specifications are met under all operating conditions. Carry out failure mode analysis and root cause diagnosis of reliability testing failures and/or field returns of current and future sensors with the goal to find mitigation to ensure higher factory yields and better user experience. Perform schematic design of boards and flexible assemblies, including signal integrity and power integrity simulation and analysis to ensure circuits are functional under all operating conditions. Execute future technology scoping and proof-of-concept investigations. Ensure cross-functional technical development of sensors and their integration. Contribute technical assessment to strategic decision-making relating to technology and investments. Travel required 20%.
