Mathematics Teacher, Middle School (full-time); Palo Alto, CA

Job Duties: Teach a rigorous comprehensive math curriculum at private all girl’s middle school including core mathematical ideas and analytical skills in an environment that encourages student inquiry, engagement, and problem solving. Facilitate the implementation of differentiated instruction, work collaboratively with Math Department teams, as well as grade level teams. Create and design curriculum and lesson plans that are enriching, comprehensive and forward-looking as well as consistent with school-wide expectations and standards Develop Math lesson plans and Teach four sections of Pre-Algebra. Adapt math curriculum to meet individual and sub-group differentiated needs, while keeping students in alignment and on track. Provide remedial instruction to meet the needs of identified students. Incorporate appropriate and varied methods, materials, and technologies into teaching. Holds students accountable for their actions and learning; sets high expectations for all students and communicates these expectations clearly and regularly. Utilize curriculum to teach logical problem solving, decision making and reasoning skills. Communicate high expectations to students clearly and consistently. Utilize challenging, thoughtful, fair, and varied tools appropriate to the objectives of the courses for assessing student progress and evaluating student achievement. Professionally and constructively responds to peer, supervisor and student feedback.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Mathematics or a related field, plus a minimum of 2 years of prior experience as a Teacher

Prior experience teaching Mathematics (including grade 7)
