JOB DESCRIPTION: Apple Inc. has multiple positions available for Data Engineer in Cupertino, California. Design, develop and handle big data driven hypothesis testing to solve for product content consumption experience and improve user engagement using the latest technologies in machine learning, user pattern recognition, statistics, and data modeling. Work closely with international business leads to analyze features and initiates that drive growth for News and News+. Develop framework for publisher and subscription analysis, and customer segmentation. Analyze data covering a wide range of information from subscriber profile to user behavior. Identify new engagement patterns through exploratory data analysis. Conduct hypothesis driven exploratory analysis, build portfolio metrics, structure best experimentation design to understand interaction effects of content and select the most appropriate modeling techniques which include a variety of statistical models. Develop hypothesis testing to improve subscription flows, and content consumption of subscribers leading to audience retention. Collaborate with product, engineering, business, and science groups to formulate innovative solutions to experiment and implement advanced data mining techniques. Work with large volumes of data, extract and manipulate large datasets using tools such as R and Spark SQL. Communicate complex concepts and the results of the analyses in a clear and effective manner to senior management.
