JOB DESCRIPTION: APPLE INC has the following available for Human Interface Designer (REQ# 200603716) in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design global content strategy that categorizes the types of social experiences Siri should support and write detailed design specifications that define verbal query patterns and character-aligned content and responses for these experiences in Mandarin Chinese. Translate and transcreate content that is applicable to Mandarin Chinese-speaking users from social conversation experiences in English and other global locales, for example, providing emotional support and answering questions about Siri as a character. Review, edit, and transcreate content translated from English to Mandarin Chinese for responses related to execution of app-based tasks and delivery of factual information based on user’s speech-based queries. Create and maintain Siri’s character and editorial guidelines with the other writers on the team, including definitions of the types of roles and registers Siri applies in specific contexts, and best practices and dialog patterns for how Siri should respond in different scenarios, for example, requests that may be sensitive, private, or inappropriate. Develop and maintain style guide for Siri in Mandarin Chinese. Ensure Siri’s content and responses reflect user expectations and regional cultural norms, and how character traits and values should be expressed in dialog, including levels of formality, politeness, and verbosity, as well as grammatical best practices, including example responses to illustrate each characteristic. Review, edit and sign off on dialog and content proposals that address worldwide and culture-specific topics such as jokes, stories, and daily check-in questions. Define Siri’s Accessibility editorial guidelines with Design partners, including detailed design specifications for best practices and dialog patterns for how Siri should respond when users make requests related to visual, auditory, cognitive, or mobile accessibility. Native knowledge or proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading Mandarin Chinese language required.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $160,910 - $214,500/yr. and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
