DUTIES: Rally Health, Inc. has an opening for a Senior Software Engineer in San Francisco, California. Drive design reviews, define interfaces between code modules, and apply existing technology to designs; break problems into components; design expertly at component level; consider diagnosability, portability/monitoring, reliability, and maintainability, and understands when their code is ready to be shared and delivered; use data and insights from customer production to contribute to some technical design and implementation decisions; understand technical debt and makes tradeoff between short term and long term goals of the design to assess technical debt; provide meaningful contribution to code reviews; write reusable code, initiate refactoring; understand performance/scale tradeoffs; create common tools and write code that is secure; apply coding patterns and best practices; write automation frameworks that are reusable; own test plan for the feature; understand unit, functional, automation, manual, and end to end testing; use a working knowledge of the product or service, competitor product or service, and customer or partner knowledge to contribute to innovative feature area product or service designs; help define own role in the delivery of the product or service design; design features of products or services that consider the iteration and change required by the needs of the business; expert in debugging own code and can debug code at the service level; utilize the live site engineering rotation time to improve the state of system (code, quality, monitoring, etc.); lead project-based strike team which consists of around 2-4 engineers; drive a project from conceptualization to delivery; define test plan and write reusable test frameworks; collaborates with team members; mentors new hires and interns; executes projects through interns if assigned; and participates in hiring process. On call duty is required on a rotational, bi-weekly basis, where each team member is on call for two (2) weeks every four (4) months.
