JOB DESCRIPTION: Apple Inc. has multiple positions available for Software Development Engineer in Cupertino, California. Build out the big data platform and services which power many of Apple Music customer features. Design, implement and support highly scalable data pipelines. Write scala spark jobs that process petabytes of data. Convert SQL business logic from data science team into scalable jobs running in production. Write integration tests for data pipelines end to end and quality guard tests. Contribute to internal libraries for data processing, pipeline scheduling and data testing. Build and run large-scale data pipelines, including distributed messaging such as Kafka, data ingest to/from multiple sources to feed batch and near real time/streaming compute components. troubleshoot and prevent performance issues of distributed storage and network resources, at the level of hosts, clusters and DCs. Data-model and optimize data-architecture for big data patterns (efficient storage and query on HDFS). Performance testing and optimize job in order to run jobs handling petabytes of data and meet business SLAs.
