JOB DESCRIPTION: Apple Inc. has multiple positions available for Software Development Engineer - Applications in Cupertino, California. Design and develop software for payments at Apple for multiple lines of business. Identify the optimal application architecture that will support distributed workloads for different levels of scale within this platform. Build frameworks that can observe data state changes across massive amounts of data, and correlate them to business actions to relay to parties of interest. Analyze data patterns and design the most optimal way to organize and distribute data for this platform. Take full advantage of Cloud offerings to build systems that can scale based on multiple parameters. Identify patterns of access to the application by users and assess how the user experience can be improved for the product. Design and execute the engineering required to split Application Servers, Databases and Data Feeds across multiple locations (DC’s) to fully become independent of a data center. Identify and execute product engineering to support different levels of compliance and related controls within the application. Design playbacks for each new engineering artifact with business, engineering leadership and operations, followed by development and rollout to production. Interact with multiple engineering teams for data exchange specs and expectations around reliability and failovers.
