Develop new critical data infrastructure systems that powers products and services. Design and implement the next-generation storage system for FoundationDB to allow FoundationDB to support high throughput of read and write traffic from Apple’s cloud service. Design, implement and improve the high availability (HA) system for FoundationDB to ensure availability when an entire datacenter is down due to disastrous event (e.g., earthquake, tornado). Design, implement and improve FoundationDB’s storage system. Evaluate FoundationDB’s performance for various benchmarks and workloads. Identify performance bottlenecks and write code to improve the software. Support and triage production incidents that impact FoundationDB’s service. Improve FoundationDB’s self-healing mechanism to better handle failures that cause production incidents. $161,000.00 - $242,000.00/yr.
